DIC Digital, manufacturer of a complete line up of 4mm and 8mm cartridges
and optical products for computer back-up and Mass-storage applications is
introducing its NEW 4mm 2-GIGABYTE 90 METER CARTRIDGE to its line.
By adding this new 4mm product, DIC///DIGITAL now offers the most complete
line of 4mm and 8mm products in the industry; from its 162 Megabyte
cartridge for data transfer to its new 2-GIGABYTE product, which is
capable of storing up to 8-GIGABYTES with compression.
"In today's backup media market 4mm and 8mm are making a strong
penetration, by offering a lower priced drive and the capability of
storing more data on a very compact cartridge, at a very low price per
megabyte", says J. Martinez, President of DIC Digital.
"The 4mm market had a slow start in the large storage installations, but
now with the introduction of new drives and the 90 meter media, the
storage capabilities of 4mm are equaling, and in some cases, exceeding
that of 8mm. Therefore, we do not see 4mm replacing 8mm, but between the
two new technologies they are replacing the applications using old fashion
analogue tapes.", Martinez adds.
MICROFINITY RELIABILITY
Along with its ability to make the very stable, low error rate 90 meter
tape, DIC has redesigned its cartridge and is now the only company
offering a new Data Grade cassette to meet stringent computer industry
applications.
DIC Digitals 90 meter product is being introduced at Comdex in October in
Las Vegas. All DIC products are available through a network of computer
dealers, distributors and resellers.
